Dr. Cindy Baker, LPC, NCC, Proprietor

Dr. Cindy Baker earned a BA in Family and Consumer Sciences with specialization in the field of early childhood development from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. She then went on to receive her MS in Guidance and Counseling from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Cindy earned a doctorate in education from the University of Missouri – Columbia, focusing on the success and well-being of at-risk children and their families. Cindy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).

Dr. Baker’s private practice and clinical experience is focused on relationship renewal between and among pre-adolescents, adolescents, couples, families and organizations focused on positive change and growth. Cindy has extensive training and experience in civil and family mediation, therapeutic supervised visitation, and addictions counseling. Cindy has been qualified as an expert witness in criminal court proceedings regarding child abuse and neglect and the effects this has on the family unit, custody concerns, and allegations of sexual assault involving a minor victim.

Cindy is a member of the Association for Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), American Counseling Association (ACA), American Mental Health Counseling Association (AMHCA), American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), and the Association of Missouri Mediators (AMM). She is certified as a Prepare/Enrich counselor in the nationally recognized marriage counseling program. Cindy is recognized as a therapeutic mediator on the Greene County Family Court list.

Dr. Baker also donates her time to those matters close to her heart by serving on several community boards including the Christian County Domestic Violence Task Force, Christian County Child Welfare Advisory Council, Ozark Rotary, and the Finley River Community Foundation. Cindy has also presented her research at several national and international conferences including the American Educational Research Association, 5th Annual Hawaii International Conference on Education, American Mental Health Counselors Association (2006 Annual Conference) and University Council for Educational Administration (2005 Educational Leadership National Convention). In 2009 Dr. Baker was invited to present at the Missouri Bar Association annual conference on the subject of Team Mediation. In addition she was extended an invitation to present at the Missouri Hospital Association’s annual meeting in Jefferson City, Missouri. She has also been published in the Winter, 2008 Journal of School Public Relations.
